Kellie Sexton

MS, BCBA, LBA, Owner and Founder of Heartshine

Hi! I’m Kellie, the owner and founder of Heartshine Behavioral Health. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from UCCS and my master’s degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Applied Behavior Analysis from Capella University. I’ve been in the ABA field for over a decade—starting as a behavior technician and growing into roles as a BCBA, Lead BCBA, Director, and now passionate owner of Heartshine.

I’m a mom to three rambunctious boys (four if you count my husband!), three dogs, two cats, and our family savannah monitor, so there’s never a dull moment at home! I love reading fantasy, walking my pups outside, and watching Is It Cake? with my family.

At my core, I’m deeply committed to assent-based care, empowering neurodiversity-affirming practices, and building genuine, authentic relationships with families. My goal is to provide meaningful, compassionate support that helps every heart shine a little brighter.

Louie

our Therapy dog in training!

Heartshine is also home to Louie, our beloved Bernedoodle therapy dog who is currently completing his therapy dog training. Gentle, goofy, and naturally intuitive, Louie brings warmth and comfort to every session he attends. With his calm temperament and love for kids, he helps clients feel at ease, supports emotional regulation, and adds a joyful spark to social skills groups and daily learning. His presence is one more way we make Heartshine a welcoming, heart-led space for every family.
